The Garden of Siloam has been active since 2015 and completed its registration as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in January 2018. The original
Board of Directors since its establishment completed their second term of three years and resigned in December 2023, in accordance with the stipulation of the organization. It is very sad to see
the retirement of Pastor. Mbae, his wife Margaret, and Mr. Duncan Chengo who have been with us since our start, but the new Directors have been elected and in service since January
2024.
We have great expectations for the new team who are full of energy with various specialties and rich experiences.
Below is a greeting from Mr. Nyasha Mutsekwa, who has been appointed as the new Chairperson.
'I am honoured to announce that I have been elected Chairperson of the Board at The Garden of Siloam. This organization holds a special place in my heart, and I am deeply committed to its mission of empowering young people with special needs to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
The Garden of Siloam has established itself as a beacon of hope for countless families in Kenya. Under the exceptional leadership of Dr. Kazuko Kumon, the organization has provided crucial support and fostered a nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
I am excited to work alongside Dr. Kumon and the dedicated Board of Directors to continue this vital work. Together, we will strive to:
・Expand access to The Garden of Siloam's programs and services to reach even more young people in need.
・Advocate for the inclusion and opportunities for people with disabilities in Kenyan society.
・Champion innovative approaches to education and support that empower young people to achieve their dreams.
I believe in the boundless potential of every young person, regardless of ability. The Garden of Siloam plays a critical role in unlocking that potential, and I am confident that together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.'
