Activities of Families

At the Garden of Siloam, we encourage the parents to grow together with our children.

Family Training

Parent's Excursion

Providing opportunities for parents to gather and deepen exchanges can help each other and provide spiritual support for each other.

Father's Group

The fathers are also very important parts of our children's lives. We would like to see the fathers to help each other to become great fathers who understands and support their children and the entire families.

Community Open Day

Income Generating Activities (IGA) for the Families

Economic empowerment is an important factor for our clients. We desire to see the families achieving financial independence by being able to utilize their skills to meet their needs.

Kindly support our parents’ income generating activities (IGA)s by ordering their products.

SECOND-HAND CLOTHES BUSINESS (CIYW, Cash In Your Wardrobe)

This was the first IGA and it started in 2018. We receive donations from well-wishers which include; clothes, shoes, toys, utensils and electronics. The parents/caregivers select the items which they can sell to their neighbors and friends around them or through social media networks. The profit they get helps them to pay for their children’s medical, therapy and education expenses in the facility as well to meet their basic needs.

SILOAM DOUGHNUTS

The doughnuts’ making business has grown to become very vibrant. We make 2 types of doughnuts namely; Old Fashion doughnuts and Yeast Doughnuts which come in different flavors namely Plain, Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Matcha, Coconut and chocolate doughnuts with sprinkles). In July, 2023 ChiQ Restaurant (Sarit Center) came in to support us by selling our doughnuts every weekend. We are open to receive orders for any events.

SILOAM SEWING DESIGNS

The sewing project started small with sewing of Kitenge gift bags. There is still a desire to grow and learn to sew other clothes designs. Our main goal is to learn to sew comfortable clothes that our children especially those who are spastic can comfortably put on and remove.

SILOAM JOYFUL FARMERS

With a majority of our caregivers being farmers, the idea of farming in the small garden behind our facility was much welcome. We started farming vegetables (Kales, Spinach, Coriander and Managu). Our customers for now are mainly the parents and staff. We are hoping to expand the project by introducing cherry tomatoes and other crops in the future.
